Bubby the 105 year old Health Counselor is still waiting on the street for a ride to the Miami airport. In her bag are all
your letters with questions waiting to be answered. When she gets home she will answer each and every one of them.
Until then, here is some Bubby wisdom:

. Don't forget to work on all your Primary Foods (relationships, career, physical activity, self care, creativity, spirituality
and Bubby's oersonal best: Humor) Balancing Primary Foods reduces stress and the stress-related inflammation
underlying disease and weight gain.

. Learning to breathe properly is important to Bubby, In fact, Bubby always says, "Anyone who is alive and breathing I
can help!"   So call 845 634-2261 and chat with Columbia University Teachers College and AADP certified Health and
Nutrition Counselors and Life Coaches Ellen Ziegler or Marilyn Benkler to set up an appontment for an in-depth Health
Evaluation and Consultation.

. Take the special, simple breathing/stress busting techniques we teach a step further. Let us teach you the tools to
take a mini-vacation everyday just by closing your eyes for a short period and using our Visualization: "The Rainbow
Connection" .... You can teach this to your children to get them healthier and calmer while enhancing their thinking
skills.  Find out more about it by calling Creative Healing Plus.
(Bubby probably closed her eyes for too long and that's why she missed her ride and is still in Miami Beach)

Hi! from Bubby the 105 year old Health Counselor. She is our mentor, the keeper of many
secrets of longevity. Two of them are Love and Laughter. We will share some of her wisdom with you this month to
usher you into a healthy and happy summer. Bubby loves to answer questions about life and health. Make Bubby
happy and email her a question  and we will publish three of them in our next Timely Tips newsletter along with Bubby's
answers.

Tips from Bubby

Your children are delicious and the future keepers of our planet.  Feed them well and organic. Bubby named her
triplets Kale, Collard and Quinoa before it was fashionable.* Her three daughters  started one of the first organic farms
in New York State. But there was no term for organic then because everything was grown naturally without pesticides
or chemical fertilizers. This summer shop at your local farmer's market and ask if they spray their produce.

Bubby asks everyone she meets: "So, vy only do some chickens get to cross da road?"
Inevitably, the answer is "To get to the other side".
But in Bubby's world the answer is: "Because dere free range!" *  You can buy free range, hormone and antibiotic free
chickens in supermarkets now. Reduce the chemical and synthetic hormone load in yours and your family's bodies by
purchasing wisely. You'll also be buying chickens that were treated more humanely.

Bubby would love to do a cooking segment on Rachel Ray's show and give some hints on healthy alternatives to
simple carbs. Bubby frequently asks people this question so she can have some peace of mind:
"Does Rachel Ray dunk her donuts in organic, free trade coffee?"*

Complex carbs like steel cut oatmeal, brown or red rice, quinoa (named after one of Bubby's daughters), millet and
amaranth add healthy fiber to your diet and help reduce cholesterol and blood sugar spikes.....whereas sugar and
simple carbs like donuts, bagels, white rice and white flour set you on a roller coaster of sugar highs and lows, adding
to weight gain, mood changes, bad cholesterol, inflammation and poor health.

Another thing Bubby recommends (if you want to live to be 105 like her)  is an in depth Health Evaluation and
Consultation from her two favorite counselors: Marilyn Benkler and Ellen Ziegler. She'll even give you their phone
number: 845 634-2261
She sends her love. If she were near you she would pinch    .

your cheek. Remember.... send Bubby a question.

Health Tips from Creative Healing Plus:

Your lifesaving bottles of water can harm you if left too long in a hot car. The heat leaches chemicals from the plastic
into the water. Chemicals can affect your hormones and general health. So be health savvy. Carry your water bottles
with you, drink often and buy fresh. Your cells will thank you.

Whew, it's hot out there, so check the label on your deodorant. Aluminum, contained in many products, has been
linked to Alzheimer's Disease. Do you want chemicals on the tender skin of your underarms? There are healthy
products you can purchase in a health food store, Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe and online. Logona and Weleda are
two smart brands.

Getting back to the sun. Check the chemicals in your sun lotions. Some products are using nanotechnology on
ingredients like zinc and titanium oxides. A questions has been raised on how these minuscule particles may invade
the body. So call the company and ask if they use this technology. Other chemicals may also cause allergic reactions
or harm you in other ways. Be sun smart, read labels and Google to find out if the ingredients are safe. Your health
food store and Vitamin Shoppe carry safer products. Coolibar and Sun Precautions (Solumbra) manufacture sun
protective clothing, parasols and umbrellas we have used for years.

By the way, if you avoid the sun, please get your Vitamin D from other sources such as cod liver oil

Health tips from Creative Healing Plus:

Those sprigs of cilantro that garnish your entrees and are pleasing to the eye are also pleasing to your body. Cilantro
is a natural detoxifier. Buy it organic and eat it raw. Watercress is great, too, and has lots of calcium and supporting
minerals. Organic greens (kale, brocco sprouts, broccoli, mesclun salad, collard greens) are other healthy purifiers
and great sources of nutrients.

Speaking of nutrients. Your body will better absorb the fat soluble vitamins (A and E) in greens if you eat them in a
salad dressed with extra virgin olive oil or walnuts, avocado or sunflower seeds. For lightly steamed greens splash a bit
of olive oil or extra virgin macadamia nut oil on the vegetables after you cook, toss and enjoy.

Did you know that olive oil heated to a high temperature can cause adverse reactions in the body? The same for
rancid nuts, roasted, salted nuts or trans fats. For sautéing and baking, macadamia nut oil is safer and
delicious...Nature's Way is a good brand and can be found in health food stores and some Vitamin Shoppes.

Choose organic...be what you eat...your body will thank you...and make you complete.

1.       Ode To Spring
Toss around a mesclun salad
Once a day upon your palate
Add some onions, nuts and carrots...
Avocado....hold the shallots...
You've mixed the colors of a parrot
To sing inside your bod a ballad.

2. Accompany this Healthy Song
With a light, simple and delicious dressing that will alkalinize your body and help neutralize disease causing
inflammation:
                                          DRESSED TO SPILL:
One finely diced fresh garlic clove spread on salad (Expose to air for ten minutes, releasing immune boosting allicin)
Add Extra Virgin Olive oil,  a dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice....garnish with pumpkin seeds, walnuts or pecans.
Use organic ingredients.

3. WOW!
What a way to grace your lunch or end your workday.

. Rebound into spring. Let's revisit the rebounder, or exercise trampoline - a great way to break a sweat and get
aerobic exercise on days you can't get to the gym. The trampoline has other benefits: mobilizing the lymphatic system
for stronger immunity, portability for indoor or outdoor use, convenience and gentle on the joints . (As with any new
exercise regimen consult your doctor first) Rebounders also come with support bars, while others fold up so you can
tuck them away while you go to the gym.

. Speaking about ups and downs: March is a great month to climb out of the winter blues. Go
green, join the health
scene. Dark green vegetables like kale, mesclun salad and bok choy are just a few nutrient packed leafy powerhouses
to lift your spirits and antioxidant levels. Organic dark green produce will help you detoxify and alkalinize your body and
reduce sugar cravings. These veggies can be eaten raw for maximum benefits or lightly steamed with healthy garlic
and ginger. Splash on extra virgin olive oil afterwards as this oil should not be cooked on high heat. Oil helps you
absorb the oil based vitamins in the vegetables.

Orange, red and yellow vegetables are no slouches either in the health department.

. March is a great month to march your mouse arrow over to the reply button and ask us a question. Boy, do we love
questions. And they don't have to be organic! We can also help you awaken your New Year's resolutions for an
amazing spring and insure your success for a year of wellness and "lookin' good"..... We love to support people in their
goals for an extraordinary life, ideal weight and optimal health. Just give us an hour and we'll give you or a loved one a
free health history consultation.
You have nothing to lose but excess weight, the quiet inflammation that
underlies disease and weight gain, stress, cravings and addictions. Everything you can gain is calm, clear
mind and skin, more energy and a body that can serve you for a long, long time.

Cold Weather Treats to warm up your winter:

Guess what to add to roasted beets. Good guess: Rutabaga. Now, if
your name was rutabaga you wouldn't shrink into a corner of the
vegetable garden. You would dress up and shout, "Notice me!" A little
rosemary, some thyme, a dash of macadamia nut oil, a sprinkling of dried
kelp or nori seaweed. (It's possible for rutabaga, like veggies in the
cabbage family, to lower thyroid function so we added seaweed for
thyroid balancing). Cut the rutabaga into small chunks and you can add
organic sliced carrots to the other root vegetables in the baking pan.
(Make sure you scrub the vegetables well before coating with the oil and
herbs and bake at 350-400 degrees until soft.) About an hour and a half.
So good!

Beets balance acid in the body, help with constipation and detoxify the
blood as well as adding nutrients and fibre to the diet. Rutabagas contain
Vits. C and A, potassium and fibre; they are low in calories and taste like
a cross between a potato and a turnip. So why didn't they call it a
turnipot?

We are thankful for the nutrition students we are mentoring at the
Institute for Integrative Nutrition, spreading the formula: healthy adults +
healthy children= a healthier planet. We are also grateful for the many
holistic world professionals, like Deepak Chopra, Michio Kushi, Joshua
Rosenthal and Dr. Andrew Weil who taught us so well and inspired us to
help others achieve their goals for their lives and health. Most of all, we
are thankful for our wonderful clients. They grow like the best plants in
the garden.

We had a great time at the Nyack Library giving the lecture: "We Are
What We Eat - foods that go into our body become our blood, cells,
tissues, organs, skin, nails and even our thoughts. Eating according to
our individual body's needs is life sustaining, while eating what is not
right for our body is life draining. Discover how to decrease weight,
increase wellness and energy, sharpen the mind, gain calmness and
achieve a longer, happier and more productive life."
